The same argument I made for the speedster.... I make again.
MID-ENGINED.
Put the engine behind the driver, and the trunk in front.
Make it something BETTER than a Miata, not a FWD-also-ran... that isn't as versatile as a Cooper cabriolet.
The styling is there... the "killer app" functional differentiation isn't.
It would be the only affordable new mid-engined car of any kind on the market.
The Mini Vision Superleggera styling is ready to go as-is.

Nope, because they're expensive.
And they don't really work without the two fins from the trunk lid and from the bumper.
